Scout-O Volunteers,
I would like to offer my sincere thanks for all your work bringing us the Fall Scout-O.
The event was fabulous! With your help, hundreds of girl scouts and boy scouts were able to experience a terrific orienteering program.
NEOC is proud to invite you to the premiere fall orienteering event in New England: 2014 Troll Cup A-meet, on November 8-9, 2014 in Townsend, MA! The Troll Cup will be a national meet with two days of classic length courses. We will be orienteering on a brand new map of Townsend State Forest made by Marcello Pradel. The fall leaves will have just fallen off the branches, and the conditions will be perfect at the height of the fall orienteering season.
A dedicated team of club members has been hard at work producing this A-meet. The 2014 Troll Cup continues a long tradition of the NEOC Troll Cup - an event series that has its roots in the very early days of the club. All courses and age groups will be featured, and the event will also host a Trail-O competition set by Mika Latva-Kokko.
The first day of competition will have classic length courses with standard interval starts, but day 2 will have a chase start: the winner of the course from Day 1 will start first, and all competitors will start behind the winner with the same time back as their difference in finish times from the first day. The first one to cross the finish line wins, and the chase offers even more excitement and intensity than the standard A-meet.
The Board seeks artwork for an outdoor sail banner to promote the New England Orienteering Club. One design will be chosen by the Board of Directors. The winning designer gets a free one-year family membership.
Download these templates and base your design on one of them: teardrop or feather.
NEOC Troll graphics are available for download: scanned Troll as .gif | "vectorized" Troll as Illustrator file.
Designs may be submitted in any form. If you're working in Illustrator or Photoshop (or similar), please follow the guidelines of the banner vendor. A winning design in another form will be rendered in Illustrator for you.

The election will fill five positions on the Board of Directors. At this time there are five candidates for those positions. If you or someone you know would consider serving on the board contact Jim Paschetto, head of the 2014 Nominating Committee.
